Hi! I’m Michelle. I am a Certified Health & Life Coach, Whole-Food, Plant-Based Cooking Instructor, Wellness Educator, and a graduate of the Health Coach Institute In addition, I have a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine.

I started Sarand Wellness in 2017, providing services as a Health Coach, Plant-Based Cooking Instructor, and Wellness Educator in Maryville, Tennessee. I work primarily with women who want to lose weight, manage stress, and improve sleep.  Using the principles of clean eating, self-care, and mindfulness, I love helping clients take the mystery out of eating well and have fun making the transition to a healthier lifestyle.  I also specialize in teaching classes to help make plant-based meals easy and fun.

From my childhood until my early 40’s, I was eating the Standard American Diet (SAD) For me, this included living on coffee, pizza, chips & dips, and fried foods. Convenience was key and that usually meant ‘heat & eat’ meals that were devoid of nutrition. I wish I had learned earlier in life how what we eat can change our lives!

After having two kids and working an office job, I found myself almost 100 pounds overweight. Embarrassed about my weight, I avoided doctors but knew I had high cholesterol and high blood pressure (from applying for life insurance). I know I was heading down the path of chronic diseases like diabetes and arthritis. And with a history of smoking, I knew I was also at risk for cancer and COPD. I really needed to change my health path, not only for myself, but for my husband and children.

I researched many, many diet plans and found that a whole-food, plant-based diet is the healthiest diet on the planet. Eating whole-plant foods, along with learning stress management techniques, adopting healthy sleep habits, and keeping active has helped me not only reach my weight loss goals but maintain them (for over ten years now).

I knew I had to take my passion for healthy eating and lifestyle to a new level. I became a certified Health & Life Coach and a Plant-Based Professional certified by Rouxbe Culinary School to teach plant-based eating to others who also want to change their health path. My learning continues, so that I can help you implement the most effective food and lifestyle changes into your daily routine.
